🎸 We’re proud to announce that legendary Romanian rock artist Adi "Baciu" Igrisan will be joining the jury of the European Blues Challenge – Romania! 🇷🇴
Few voices have left a deeper imprint on the Romanian rock scene than Adi’s. Known as the unmistakable frontman of the iconic band Cargo, his powerful baritone, magnetic stage presence, and profound musical insight make him an invaluable addition to this year’s panel.
🎶 With over 30 years of experience in the industry, Adi “Baciu” Igrisan is more than a performer — he’s a complete musician. From his early beginnings as a drummer and self-taught vocalist, to becoming a celebrated composer and guitarist, he’s a living example of musical passion and evolution.
🎤 After joining Cargo in 1995, Adi became the heart and soul of the band — leading it into a new era of creativity with hits like “Dacă ploaia s-ar opri,” “Spiritus Sanctus,” and “Românie, te strig!” His ability to blend emotional power with musical finesse is exactly what we seek in the performances at this national blues final.

At least 5 standout blues acts from across Romania will take the stage and compete live for the chance to represent the country at the European Blues Challenge 2026.
🎯 Each band will: 🔹 Perform a 20-minute set 🔹 Be evaluated by a panel of respected professionals, including: • Adi "Baciu" Igrisan (Romania)
• Kaz Hawkins (Ireland/UK)
• Ben Poole (United Kingdom)
• Richard Constantinidi (Romania)
• Stephen J Harrison (United Kingdom)
• André Wittebroek (Netherlands) 🔹 Compete for the honor of taking Romanian blues to the European stage
👉 All participating bands will receive free access to the full week of the Open Air Blues Festival Brezoi 2025 – a hub of passion, community, and live music magic.
🏆 The winning band will not only gain the incredible opportunity to perform at the prestigious European Blues Challenge 2026, but the Romanian Blues Federation (Federația Ro Blues) will also cover travel and accommodation expenses, ensuring they can focus on sharing their music on Europe’s biggest blues stage.
